FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

All undergraduate students enrolled at any of the 23 Indian Institutes of Technology are eligible. Teams are organized by IIT contingents, managed by Contingent Leaders (CLs) and Deputy CLs (DCLs).

The Contingent Leader (CL) of each IIT logs into the portal using their assigned credentials and registers team members for specific Problem Statements. Individual participants cannot create their own accounts.

The five domains are: High Prep (intensive, weeks of preparation required), Mid Prep (balanced preparation), Low Prep (quick turnaround challenges), No Prep (on-the-spot problems), and Research & Innovation (academic research problems).

Submissions can be large — up to 100GB ZIP files for some problem statements. The portal uses AWS S3 Multipart Upload to handle massive files safely. Never submit via email; always use the portal.

The portal hard-locks at the deadline with millisecond precision. Any late submissions (if system-allowed at all) are timestamped to the second, and rulebook penalties apply. Always submit well before the deadline.

Use the Contention Portal (available after results announcement). It provides a real-time queue system where you can submit your dispute. Judges process contentions live using the admin control panel.

After registering your team members in the registration portal, use the Accommodation Portal to declare gender ratios and dietary preferences. Accommodation is assigned based on this validated data.

Yes. All submission files are stored in encrypted AWS S3 buckets. Even Host IIT administrators cannot access submission files before the official judging window opens. AWS IAM time-locks enforce this.
